The Khadijah is inspired by the story of the first woman of Islam, Siti Khadijah Binti Khuwailid as a successful businesswoman in her own right.
Khadijah was a highly prosperous businesswoman. According to legend, Khadijah’s caravan was larger than all the other traders combined when the Quraysh trade caravan travelers met to set out on their summer or winter journeys to Yemen. Khadijah was referred to by a number of titles, such as “The Pious One,” “Princess of Quraysh” (Ameerat-Quraysh), and “Khadijah the Great” (Khadijah al-Kubra).
With her wealth, Khadijah has helped her relatives financially, fed and clothed the homeless, and donated wedding gifts for distant relatives who couldn’t afford them. Her generosity is a blessing to thousands of unfortunate.
Many new business start-ups end up in failure as they did not receive a proper guide to operate their business. Limited funds are one of the reasons for many people to forgo their dreams. The Khadijah aims to provide proper business guidelines to the women starting from recognizing their business interests until they are eligible to receive funds and run their business.
We believe, we can return a huge benefit to our religion by creating more women that are strong in business like Khadijah Binti Khuwailid. Like how Khadijah become the loyal wife that gave her wealth to support our Prophet in his dawah, that is what our women will be.
